The holeshot devices are activated on the grid then deactivated by braking force as the racer advances towards the first corner.

Meanwhile, the ride-height devices are more complicated because they can be turned on at the push of a button while the racer is moving around a corner, allowing the vehicle's height to decrease automatically when exiting the corner. (antara/mcr20/jpnn)
