Again, Pesantren Official in West Java Allegedly Abuses Students
jpnn.com, TASIKMALAYA - A teacher and manager of a pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in Tasikmalaya, West Java, has allegedly molested nine female students.
The Tasikmalaya Child Protection Commission (KPAID) confirmed the case, saying the incidents came to light based on community reports in mid-November.
"We got a complaint from the public that was made 20 days ago. Then, we followed up and found that the incidents did occur," Tasikmalaya KPAID head Ato Rinanto told jabar.jpnn.com, Saturday (11/12).
Ato revealed that of the nine cases involving the pesantren teacher, only two were equipped with strong evidence and processed by the local police.
Five of the victims have received psychological assistance from the KPAID.
Ato said the victims were Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Aliyah students aged 15-17.
"This teacher molested the chidren by kissing and holding their sensitive body parts," he added.
Based on the victims' confessions, the teacher committed the obscene acts at the pesantren.
