Tourist Spots Strictly Guarded in Anticipation of Omicron: Ridwan
jpnn.com, JAWA BARAT - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said crowded tourism places in West Java had been closely guarded in anticipation of Omicron.
"For example, Pangandaran Beach, Lembang, and Puncak that often go viral because of the crowd," said Ridwan in Bandung, Tuesday (28/12).
He urged residents not to get panicked but remain vigilant and compliant with health protocols in their daily activities.
Even so, he said there was no special treatment for the new variant and that the handling pattern would remain the same.
The West Java administration, continued Ridwan, had prepared equipment and infrastructure for Covid-19 mitigation, including oxygen and beds, for patients of all variants.
He said that although the Omicron variant spread faster, the fatality rate now was not as severe as when the Delta variant hit, partly because the majority of the community had been vaccinated.
