Jakarta Reimposes Odd-Even Policy. Here Are All Affected Routes.
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - As Jakarta reimposes the odd-even traffic policy, the number of areas affected will also be expanded.
The policy that was initially implemented in only three areas will affect 13 areas, starting on Monday (25/10).
Jakarta Police traffic director Senior Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said his institution made the decision together with the Jakarta Transportation Agency.
"It's for controlling mobility," Sambodo said on Friday (22/10).
The odd-even policy will take place throughout the weekdays, with two sessions in a day. The first session is at 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The second session is at 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The policy does not apply on weekends.
Sambodo said the expansion was carried out after examining the total volume of vehicles in Jakarta during rush hours.
"[The streets] today are more congested than before because the volume of vehicles has increased by 37 to 40 percent compared to when there were level 4 and 3 restrictions on community activities," he said.
