Students, Workers Block Roads During Youth Pledge Day
"We also urge the government to manage COVID-19 well and resolve gross human rights violations, as well as guarantee the right to health in the midst of a pandemic, accelerate the recovery of the national economy, realize free education, and stop the silencing of civil society," said coordinator Razak Usman.
Police were seen on guard at the scene.
A number of motorists were stuck in traffic and complained about the blocking of two-way lanes on Jalan Sultan Alauddin towards Jalan Andi Pangeran Pettarani.
"We are very disturbed because the road is blocked. If you want to do a demonstration, you don't have to block the road. It's a shame that drivers have to be stuck in such artificial traffic jams. I also don't hear what their aspirations are," said one driver Sahrul Ramadhan. (antara/mcr20/jpnn)
