jpnn.com, AMMAN - After defeating Iran, the Indonesian women's basketball team is waiting for Lebanon in the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup semifinals.

Gabriel Sophia and teammates beat Iran with a score of 76-68 at the Prince Hamza Arena, Amman, Thursday (11/11).

The result made Li Chi Wen's team confident to be promoted to Division A of the FIBA Women's Asia Cup.

Gabriel Sophia, the player who scored a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists against Iran, was optimistic that they could qualify.

"Thank God we made it to the semifinals, but there is still a lot to improve. As a team, we will work even harder, be more united, and remind each other so that we can continue until the final," said Gabriel in a written release.

Henny Sutjiono said the same thing. The player with the shooting guard position promised to work together to make Indonesia proud.

"We managed to win over Iran, but there is still a lot that needs to be improved. Hopefully, in the next match, we can take the victory and reach the final," said Henny.

In this match, Kim Pierre-Louis became the top scorer with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
