Marcos Alonso almost brought Chelsea ahead in the 53rd minute. However, his horizontal kick was also secured by the Lille defender.

In the 58th minute, it was Havertz's turn to spread the threat. Unfortunately, the shot of the former Bayer Leverkusen player bounced slightly from the Lille goal.

Chelsea finally doubled their advantage in the 62nd minute through Christian Pulisic's action. Welcoming Ngolo Kante's pass, Pulisic slightly controlled the ball before finally striking it into the Lille goal.

Chelsea's 2-0 advantage did not change until the referee sounded the long whistle.
