Newlywed Man Arrested for Impregnating Minor
jpnn.com, BENGKULU - A 20-year-old newlywed man, identified with the initials AS, a resident of Arma Jaya district, North Bengkulu regency, Bengkulu, has been arrested for allegedly having intercourse with a minor and impregnating her.
He was only three months into his marriage.
AS was reported to the police by his ex-girlfriend, who was 17 years old, alleging that he had a sexual intercouse with her in January, and now she was 6.5 months pregnant.
Meanwhile, AS himself already has a two-month-old baby from the wife he just married in June.
AS admitted that he had had sexual relationships with two girlfriends. The girl she married got pregnant first.
The ex-girlfriend, with her family, reported the case to the North Bengkulu Police after her family realized that the victim was pregnant.
"At that time, my wife was pregnant, so we got married. We had a consensual relationship," AS said.
Head of criminal investigation unit Adjutant Commissioner Jery Nainggolan and spokesman Iptu M Asnawi said that the victim was still a minor, so the perpetrator was charged with Law Number 35/2014 concerning child protection.
