NTB to Enjoy Five Percent Economic Growth Due to Mandalika: Luhut
jpnn.com, LOMBOK - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has delivered good news about the economy of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), saying that the economy in the region was to grow five percent as a result of activities at the Mandalika Circuit.
"With the Mandalika Circuit, the NTB economy can grow five percent," said Luhut during a visit to the Mandalika Circuit in Central Lombok, Sunday (21/11).
He said that the World Superbike (WSBK) event at the Mandalika Circuit had a positive impact on NTB's economic growth in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Products of MSMEs in NTB are definitely absorbed at the WSBK event, as stated by the NTB governor and Coordinating Minister for SMEs," he said.
Luhut added that according to the governor, tourism businesses such as hotels and homestays were all fully booked.
"In fact, the price is tripled, including for car rentals and others. They get a blessing from this WSBK, so the economy will all come alive," said Luhut.

However, Luhut warned that activities such as the WSBK in Mandalika should be carried out with health protocols in place.
"We need to know that if we do that really well, the results can be well enjoyed. Even though Covid-19 has been a bit loose, we must remain vigilant and remain disciplined in implementing health protocols properly," said Luhut. (antara/mcr20/jpnn)
