Lampung Police Allegedly Involved in Car Theft, Drug Use
jpnn.com, BANDARLAMPUNG - A chief brigadier in Lampung with the initials IS is suspected of car theft and drug use, the Bandarlampung Police criminal unit has said.
Based on preliminary investigations, the perpetrator along with two other suspects allegedly took the victim's car by force and extorted money from the victim.
The perpetrators allegedly forced the victim's family to send them Rp 10 million (US$702.96).
"The motive is simply plundering and extortion," Bandarlampung Police chief Senior commissioner Ino Harianto said on Thursday (21/10).
Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Hendro Sugiatno said the perpetrator would be fired and punished accordingly.
An urine examination showed that IS was positive for narcotics.
Apart from IS, the police also arrested a civil servant in Lampung. (ega/yud/mcr20/radarlampung)
