Offline Learning in Bandung Leads to New Covid-19 Cases
english.jpnn.com, BANDUNG - The Bandung administration in West Java has dismissed the face-to-face learning in a number of schools as it led to new Covid-19 cases.
Bandung secretary Ema Sumarna said this was a temporary suspension as a consequence that five percent of people in the schools, both students and teachers, had contracted Covid-19.
"The transmission of Covid-19 does not differentiate between favorite schools and the others. Once the number of cases exceeds the percentage limit, just stop and go back to online learning," Ema said on Friday (22/10).
However, Ema did not disclose which schools had the temporary suspension and the number of schools.
The schools could only resume offline learning when things returned to normal, she added.
Ema admitted that the local government had immediately carried out tracking efforts after the reported positive cases in schools.

"Students must be mapped based on where they live - who live in Bandung and who live outside the city. This is standard," she said.
Currently, there are 72 active cases of Covid-19 in Bandung. This figure has decreased from 90 to 100 active daily cases in the previous week. (mcr20/antara/jpnn)
