Covid-19 Terrorizes China Again, Venues Are Closed
english.jpnn.com, CHINA - All tourist attractions and entertainment venues in Lanzhou city in northwest China were closed on Wednesday after six positive cases of Covid-19 were found.
This came as several regions in China were reported to have Covid-19 cases, both positive and asymptomatic, since Sunday (17/10).
To prevent the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, local authorities have taken preventive and control measures, according to local media.
The authorities in the provincial capital of Gansu warned residents not to leave the city unless there was an urgent need.
When leaving the city, they must be able to show a health card and a Covid-19 test result to prove they have been free from the virus in the last 48 hours.
Private company employees and government agency staff at all levels in Lanzhou must report if they leave the city, which is surrounded by the Gobi Desert.
Residents were strongly discouraged from attending meetings that involve large crowds.
The mahjong game arenas, which usually involve the elderly, public bathrooms, karaoke, bars and other public places, were temporarily closed.
China's Lanzhou has reported new Covid-19 cases, raising concern of virus outbreak in other regions of the country.
