Policemen Sell Ammunition to Armed Group in Papua
jpnn.com, PAPUA - The Nemangkawi Task Force has arrested two members of the National Police who are suspected of selling firearms ammunition to an armed criminal group (KKB) in the Nabire region, Papua.
Both were arrested on Wednesday (27/10) and are currently still under investigation by officers.
"Yes, [the arrest was made], and now an investigation is being carried out," said the Head of the Nemangkawi Task Force's Law Enforcement Division Senior Commissioner Faisal Ramadhani, Friday (29/10).
From the data collected, the two police officers were identifed with the initials JPO and AS.
The police officer with the initials JPO served at the Nabire Police Station. Meanwhile, AS served at the Yapen Islands Police Station.
The arrest was initially made against AS, who was caught selling ammunition.
AS then admitted that the ammunition was obtained from JPO.
The two were then taken to the Nabire Police Station for further investigation.
