jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Indonesia Covid-19 spokeswomen Reisa Broto Asmoro said that Indonesia was ranked fifth in the world with the highest number of full-dose vaccinations, according to Our World in Data in early December 2021.

"As of Tuesday, December 7, 2021, more than 100 million Indonesians have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccination," said Reisa at the Presidential Office, Central Jakarta, Friday (11/12).

The Ambassador for the Adaptation of New Habits said that the Health Ministry was targeting to complete vaccination of 208.2 million Indonesians by March or April 2022.

She said that nearly 145 million people in the country had received at least one injection of the Covid-19 vaccine, reaching 70 percent of the vaccination target.

"If you subtract the total recipients of the complete dose and the total recipients of the first dose, there are still around 45 million Indonesians who are waiting for the second dose of vaccine injection," said Reisa.

She explained besides helping people prevent serious exposure to Covid-19, vaccination was also required to access public places.

"The Health Ministry has instructed all vaccination service posts, port health offices, hospitals, and health polytechnics throughout Indonesia to vaccinate all targeted recipients regardless their place of residence," said Reisa. (tan/mcr20/jpnn)
