Jokowi Promises on Human Rights Protection, Investment Boost
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has promised on the continuous fulfillment of human rights in the social, economic, and cultural fields.
He reminded government officials to completely eradicate extreme poverty in the shortest possible time by opening the widest possible job opportunities.
"We must guarantee access to affordable and equitable education and health services, and we must guarantee freedom of religion as well as freedom to maintain customs and culture," said the President in his remarks at the commemoration of World Human Rights Day at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (10/12).
The former Jakarta governor stated that the government continued to work hard to develop the country from the outskirts, villages, and borders to improve access to social, economic, and cultural justice for all Indonesian people.
The government would also continue to build infrastructure throughout the country and open up investment to create job opportunities, he said.
"The goal of investment, downstreaming, and industrialization is to create the widest possible employment opportunities, and we know that this year's investment outside Java has been greater than investment in Java. And, we will continue to provide social assistance to help disadvantaged groups of people," he added.
Jokowi also said that the government would continue to pull investment in, improve the Job Creation Law, and improve the investment ecosystem, including business licensing through Online Single Submission (OSS).
The government has issued Presidential Regulation Number 53/2021 concerning the National Action Plan for Human Rights for 2021–2025.
President Joko Widodo has promised on the continuous fulfillment of human rights in the social, economic, and cultural fields.
