jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the detention cell of the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) in Riau, Andi Putra, on Saturday (23/10).

The search at the KPK Merah Putih Building was carried out in connection with an upload on a Facebook account under the name "Andi Putra Kuansing".

Andi Putra is a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the extension of the Palm Oil Cultivation Right permit in Kuansing regency.

"In response to information circulating about the post on social media of a KPK detainee, we would like to inform you that the KPK detention center officers on Saturday, immediately searched the detention room and did not find any communication equipment," said KPK acting spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement in Jakarta, Monday (25/10).

He said that Andi had signed a formal statement to confirm he was not the one who wrote the status message on the social media platform.

The KPK prohibits all detainees from bringing or using electronic equipment, including communication tools, into the detention center as regulated by the Minister of Law and Human Rights, according to Ali.

The detention center is guarded by officers throughout the day and monitored by various surveillance cameras. The KPK also examines in detail every detainee who will enter the place.

"Therefore, regarding the post on the social media account of the KPK detainee, it is possible that it was done by someone else," said Ali.

The KPK searched the detention cell of Andi Putra after someone allegedly uploaded a post on his social media account.
