Sri Mulyani Agrees to Meet MPR Leadership, Bamsoet Says
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The leadership of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) is ready to hold a meeting with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani to discuss various matters.
"We appreciate the Finance Minister's willingness to come to the MPR to discuss many things," said MPR chairman Bambang Soesatyo in a press statement, Saturday (4/12).
The Golkar politician said that the upcoming meeting with Sri would focus on communication and coordination issues regarding institutional tasks.
"It's hoped that in the future, there will be no misunderstandings. For the sake of creating a relationship of mutual respect, we've agreed to meet each other," said Bamsoet.
Bamsoet said that the MPR supported the Ministry of Finance in managing state finances and the central government to restore the national economy in 2022.
On the other hand, said Bamsoet, the MPR was also ready to play a role in anticipating the impact of the pandemic from an ideological perspective, namely intensifying vaccinations through the Four Pillars Socialization of the MPR.
"It's considering that the Covid-19 pandemic has also resulted in a moral pandemic in the form of marginalization of noble values, local wisdom, and national identity," he explained.
The MPR leadership was previously involved in tensions with Sri Mulyani because the latter was said to often refuse invitations from the state institution to discuss the Four Pillars Socialization budget.
