MPR Leadership Asks Jokowi to Remove Sri Mulyani
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) wants President Joko Widodo to remove Sri Mulyani from the position of Finance Minister.
This was revealed by MPR deputy chairperson Fadel Muhammad in a press conference after an internal meeting of the state institution at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Tuesday (30/11).
According to him, the internal meeting was held to evaluate the performance of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
"On behalf of the leadership of the MPR of the Republic of Indonesia, I propose to the President to dismiss the Finance Minister," said Fadel in a statement.
Fadel argued that Sri Mulyani had no ethical side as a government official and had underestimated the MPR.
"We consider the Finance Minister to be unethical and incompetent in regulating government policies," said Fadel.
The former Gorontalo governor said that Sri Mulyani always avoided meeting with the MPR leadership to discuss the Four Pillars Socialization budget.
This was because Sri Mulyani wanted the budget for these activities to be lower than before, he added.
