BPN Opens Up About Nirina Zubir's Land Mafia Case
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) have responded to the land mafia case surrounding celebrity Nirina Zubir.
According to land dispute and conflict handling director general R.B Agus Widjayanto, it was not easy for the BPN to prevent Nirina's case of one-sided certificate renaming.
"It is necessary for the land owner to take preventive measures, for example studying the document made before giving power to an attorney and not easily handing over certificates to others," said Agus in an official statement in Jakarta, Monday (22/11).
Agus said that they needed to check if there was an administrative defect because it had not gone through the procedure.
He said if the land transaction process was carried out by people without authority, there was a legal defect.
"We can cancel the transaction if there's a legal or juridical defect. However, to be able to return it to its original state, the BPN will examine whether there's really a defect in its administration. This is what the police are currently proving," said Agus.
Agus assessed the role of the Land Deed Making Official (PPAT) was very necessary in order to ensure that the parties did the transaction correctly.
"The PPAT must ensure that the parties carrying out the transaction are rightful and authorized parties," said Agus.
