jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower has prepared various programs for women that are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said that one of the programs was the Independent Manpower Program (TKM).
This program aims to create jobs and open up business opportunities for those affected by the pandemic and the social restriction policies.
"This program is given to ultra micro and micro business groups," said Ida at the ministry's office in Jakarta, Monday (8/11).
The implementation of TKM is adjusted to regional potential in order to stimulate the creativity of the local community and increase job opportunities.
Ida emphasized that the role of women was very important and crucial.
"The role of all women is needed in driving the local economy to realize the development of good human qualities, and it can be a driving force both in villages and urban areas," she said.
Chairperson of the Indonesian Cross-Professional Women's Association (PPLIPI), Indah Suryadharma Ali, explained that her association could be a forum for women to do something for those less fortunate in terms of their profession and educational background, and to contribute their thoughts, knowledge, experience, opportunities, and even materials.
