Manpower Minister Ida Joins Abu Dhabi Dialogue
jpnn.com, DUBAI - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah is attending the sixth meeting of the Colombo Process and Abu Dhabi Dialogue Ministerial Consultation for two days, October 26 and October 27, in Dubai.
The Abu Dhabi Dialogue is a forum that brings together 12 sending countries and six receiving countries for migrant workers, as well as two observer countries.
The sending countries include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The six destination countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, two reviewers are Sweden and Switzerland.
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Manpower, is one of the initiators of the formation of the Colombo Process forum.
Minister Ida said the meeting was the right moment for the government to promote Indonesia's strategy to protect and empower migrant workers.
"This is also a follow-up to the president's directive regarding the importance of the issue of protecting and empowering migrant workers, which is one of the main focuses of the Indonesian government," said Ida in a written statement released by the Ministry of Manpower on Tuesday (26/10).
