House Approves General Andika as TNI Commander
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) has finally approved the nomination of Army Chief of Staff General Andika Perkasa as the new Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander.
This was carried out during a public hearing (RDPU), Saturday (6/11).
"We give approval for the appointment of the candidate General Andika Perkasa for the TNI Commander," said House Commission I chairman Meutya Hafid at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday.
The approval was given after the legislator of the commission held an RDPU with General Andika, as part of a series of fit and proper test activities.
Meutya added that the RDPU also approved the retirement of current commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
"We approve the honorable discharge of Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and extend our appreciation for his dedication," said the Golkar Party politician.
