jpnn.com, JAKARTA - A petition on Change.org demanding the removal of PCR testing as the requirement to fly has now been signed by 46,977 people.

The petition was set by an account named Herlia Adisasmita, who rejected the PCR testing rule because she said it had an impact on Bali's economy.

Herlia conveyed two requests in this petition, namely abolishing the mandatory rule of PCR testing for flights and reducing the price of PCR testing significantly.

She said that the tourism ecosystem in Bali was very large and multi-layered, and it required the presence of tourists to survive.

"We've gone bankrupt. We've been unemployed. We've gone hungry. Many of us are even depressed. Our households are falling apart due to economic factors. [Some] even committed suicide," Herlia wrote on the online site, Wednesday (27/10).

Moreover, Herlia said, the Balinese people have implemented health protocols, carried out vaccinations, and used the government's PeduliLindungi surveillance app.

"Fellow Indonesians, especially those in Java and Bali, tourism industry players, as well as lovers of the island of Bali, let's unite our voices!" added Herlia. (mcr9/mcr20/jpnn)
