jpnn.com, JERMAN - Two Indonesian pairs at the 2021 Hylo Open, namely Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari (mixed doubles) and Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri (men's doubles), have managed to book a place in the top 16.

Rinov and Pitha successfully advanced to the next round after defeating the British duo Callum Hemming and Jesica Pugh in a straight game 21-19 and 21-18 in just 29 minutes.

In the next round, Danish representatives Mikkel Mikkelsen and Rikke Soby Hansen will be waiting for Rinov and Pitha, who in the previous match surprisingly beat the fourth seed from Malaysia Can Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying through a rubber game 22-20, 15-21, and 21- 16.

Meanwhile, Bagas and Fikri stepped into the top 16 after beating French representatives Fabien Delrue and William Villeger with a score of 21-9 and 21-17 in 30 minutes.

In the second round, Bagas and Fikri will challenge the winner of the match between Ben Lane and Sean Vendy from England and Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy from India.

Apart from Rinov, Pitha, Bagas, and Fikri, there were three other Indonesian pairs or singles who competed today, including Hafiz Faizal and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja that fought against Adam Hall and Julie Macpherson from Scotland.
