Two Policemen Allegedly Abuse, Extort Wife of Drug Suspect
jpnn.com, SUMATERA UTARA - North Sumatra Police chief Inspector General Panca Putra has removed Kutalimbaru Police chief Adjutant Commissioner Hendri Surbakti from his post, as well as several investigators on duty at the local police in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.
The removal is the aftermath of an alleged molestation case carried out by Kutalimbaru Police investigators against the wife of a drug suspect.
Two investigators from the Kutalimbaru Police, a first adjutant inspector and a chief brigadier, were suspected of molesting and extorting the wife.
"Last night, they were removed, including the police chief, the head of the unit, and the investigators," said Panca after reviewing the mass vaccination program at the University of North Sumatra on Tuesday (26/10).
The removal came after an internal investigation.
Panca admitted that he was concerned about the actions of these police officers, saying that they had tarnished the name of the police institution.
