"Those that reopen are massage parlors, discotheques, bars, and karaoke bars, according to regulations of the mayor and the Tourism Agency," said BPB Linmas' head of prevention and preparedness, Hendrik Simanjuntak, in an official statement on Saturday (10/23).

However, the operating hours of the entertainment venues are still restricted.

"Venues that open at 6 p.m. like discotheques will close at midnight," Hendrik added.

Managements of the public entertainment venues welcomed the reopening with open arms after their places were being shut down for almost two years due to the pandemic.

"They were completely closed for a year and a half. Now, we can finally reopen them," said Rika, one of the managements' representatives. (mcr12/mcr20/jpnn)
