The office's legal spokesman, Leonard Eben Ezer, said that the Nengsy case had received attention from Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, who ordered the junior attorney general for general crimes (Jampidum) to conduct an examination.
"After reading the news circulating regarding the handling of the case, the attorney general gave special attention and ordered a special examination," Leonard said in a press release, Monday (15/11).
Leonard said that the Jampidum had conducted a special examination of the Nengsy case.
In this examination, the Jampidum has interviewed nine people from the West Java High Prosecutor's Office, the Karawang District Attorney's Office, and the public prosecutor.
The examination has resulted in a number of findings.
First, both the Karawang District Attorney and the West Java High Court did not have a sense of crisis or sensitivity.
Second, the public prosecutor did not understand the guideline Number 3/2019 concerning Criminal Prosecutions for General Crimes.
