Four Dead in Multi-Vehicle Accident in Sumedang
jpnn.com, SUMEDANG - A deadly accident occurred on the Bandung-Cirebon highway, Tanjungsari district, Sumedang regency, West Java, Sunday (7/11).
A truck rammed three cars and four motorbikes on a downhill road.
As a result, four people died.
"The truck carrying a load of coal drove from the direction of Cirebon to Bandung. When it arrived at the road, it passed the road and turned left, but it crashed into a downhill," said Sumedang Police traffic unit head Adjutant Commissioner Kiki Hartaki.
Kiki said that the four people who died were Riyan Sandi Permana (16), Listiani Hapita Dewi (31), Iyah Sariah (50), and Rina Anggraeni (17).
In addition, there were also three other people injured, namely Muhammad Ridwan (29), Titin Supriatin (20), and another person whose identity has not been recorded.
Based on an initial investigation, Kiki suspected that the accident was caused by the negligence of the truck driver, identified with the initial S (42).
It is suspected that S did not apply a safe distance when descending, so he hit the vehicles in front of him.
