Thousands of LDII Followers Flock to MUI Solo Office
Separately, Surakarta LDII chairman Muhammad Zein confirmed that the crowd that stormed the Surakarta MUI office were LDII followers.
However, according to him, there was no mass mobilization.
"They knew from social media that there was an invitation from the Solo MUI to an individual acting in the name of the LDII Hijrah. Our followers were curious who the individual was, so they came there," he explained.
Zein argued that there were parties trying to pit the LDII against the MUI, while in fact the LDII had maintained good communication with the Surakarta MUI management. (mcr21/mcr20/jpnn)
