jpnn.com, SOLO - The Surakarta Police has named two students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta, Central Java, as suspects for the death of Gilang Endi Saputra.

This followed the case filed the police on Friday (5/11) at the Surakarta Police Headquarters of alleged violence that resulted in the death of Gilang, who was a diploma student of UNS.

The two suspects were members of the Menwa training and education committee, identified with the initials NFM (22) from Pati and FPJ (22) from Wonogiri.

This was carried out based on three pieces of evidence, namely witness statements, autopsy reports, and statements from forensic experts.

Surakarta Police chief Senior Commissioner Ade Safri Simanjuntak said each suspect was suspected of committing violence using tools or bare hands.

"We have informed the public prosecutor of the determination of the suspects to the Surakarta City District Attorney's Office," said Ade in Surakarta, Friday (5/11) afternoon.

The two student suspects were charged with Article 351 and Article 359 of the Criminal Code, facing a threat of seven years in prison.

So far, the investigators have examined 26 witnesses, as well as forensic experts, who are members of the Central Java Police's medical and health team.

The Surakarta Police has named two UNS students as suspects for the death of Gilang Endi Saputra.
