UNS Student Might Die from Blunt Trauma, Police Say
jpnn.com, SOLO - Authorities have announced the results of an autopsy on the body of Gilang Endi, a student of the Surakarta Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in Central Java, who died during a basic education and training on campus.
The police said on their website that it was possible Gilang died from a blunt force trauma in the head.
In response to this, the President of UNS' Student Executive Board, Dessy Latifatul Laila, urged the campus chancellor to disclose the autopsy results transparently.
"So far, there has been no information from the campus regarding this news. We have only gathered information based on yesterday's press conference," Dessy said in Solo, Wednesday (27/10).
According to her, there will be a follow-up hearing between the students and the UNS chancellor, but there is no definite schedule of the meeting so far.
When asked if there was any specific information about the practice of violence within the university, Dessy said she was not able to provide information.
She said she only knew about the alleged violence from discussions on social media.
"Reportedly, there is some kind of pressure on members of the training program to stop them from providing information to outsiders," she said.
