The doctor examined the toddler's body and diagnosed her with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), which is a hereditary disease that makes a woman's physical appearance appear more masculine.

"After a week, her condition was better, but the next week she got sick again and then returned to the hospital," Surahman continued.

Laila still cannot undergo a surgery because she is underweight.

"Her weight is now 5.5 kilograms," said her father.
