jpnn.com, JAMBI - The fire that occurred at an illegal oil well at KM 51 Bungku village, Bajubang district, Batanghari regency, Jambi, was finally extinguished on Tuesday (26/10) morning after 39 days.

"The fire was successfully extinguished by the joint team of Pertamina (state-owned oil and gas company) in Jambi, PT AAS, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police, and the Batanghari Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD)," said Batanghari Resort Police deputy chief Commissioner Andi Z. in a statement received on Wednesday (27/10).

Andi said that after struggling for more than a month, the officers managed to extinguish the fire on Tuesday (27/10) at 8.45 a.m.

Even though the fire has been extinguished, the officers are still monitoring the scene to ensure that the fire will not reoccur, according to Andi.
