Fugitive in Makassar Cathedral Bombing Case Arrested
jpnn.com, MAKASSAR - A fugitive in the Makassar Cathedral bombing case has been arrested by the police's anti-terrorism squad (Densus 88).
MS (22) was arrested in a police operation carried out by Densus 88 in front of a mini market on Jalan Poros Rappang, Pareppare, Pinrang, South Sulawesi, Monday (6/12).
"MS was born Kediri. He's a dumpling seller," said National Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan in Jakarta, Monday (13/12).
The suspect was allegedly involved in the bombing at the Makassar Cathedral on March 28, 2021.
Since the incident, MS had been on the wanted list.
"The suspect was a member of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) group," said Ramadhan.
The bombing was carried out by suicide bombers.
The bombers were a married couple and were found dead at the scene.
