Indonesia Safely Holds First G20 Sherpa Meeting in Jakarta

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Indonesia safely held the first G20 Sherpa Meeting in Jakarta on December 7–8, 2021, as the opening of the 2022 G20 Presidency.

Communications and Information Minister Johnny G. Plate said the meeting was a benchmark for Indonesia's expertise in hosting international high-level conferences.

"At this meeting, as many as 21 delegates were physically present in Jakarta, 14 other countries joined online, and three countries were present in a hybrid manner," said Johnny.

Johnny ensured that strict health protocols were in place as soon as delegates arrived in Indonesia.

Delegates must have received the full dose of vaccine, show negative PCR test results, and download the PeduliLindungi application.

"The government also provides a special route for the G20 delegation to minimize physical contact with passengers and airport officials," he said.

According to him, the government conducts daily tests on all participants of the G20 meeting and implements a bubble concept to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

A total of 644 tests have been carried out, with all of them showing negative results.
