Hoki, Kobayashi Reveal Key to Success Against Indonesian Double
jpnn.com, BALI - Japanese men's doubles badminton players Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi started their journey at the BWF World Tour Finals by beating the host pair, Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Erich Yacob Rambitan.
Competing at the Bali International Convention Center, Wednesday (01/12), Hoki and Kobayashi won two straight games with a score of 21-14 and 21-19 in just 42 minutes.
In this match, the 2021 Indonesia Masters champion appeared more pressing since the beginning of the match. This happened because Hoki and Kobayashi had fully understood the characteristics of Pramudya and Yeremia.
"We've met them before. Based on that experience, we finally know how to play best. That's why we could play forcefully since the beginning of the game to beat them," said Hoki after the match.
Hoki and Kobayashi will face the French duo, Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov, in the next match.
"Playing against the Popov brothers, we are wary because they are a young couple who always appear on fire. Our target is to wipe out the group to the victory," added Kobayashi.
