Two LRT Trains in Jakarta Collide
jpnn.com, JAKARTA TIMUR - Two LRT trains in the Cipayung area, East Jakarta, collided on Monday (25/10) at 1 p.m., according to state-owned train manufacturer PT Industri Kerata Api (Inka).
The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT)'s head of sub-committee for investigation of railway accidents, Suprapto, said his committee had visited the crash site.
"Since yesterday, the KNKT has visited the scene. Currently, we are still in the process of collecting data," Suprapto told JPNN.com, Tuesday (26/10).
Suprapto added that they had not yet been able to determine what caused the accident.
"At this time, it is not known. For that, sufficient data is needed. We will report the results soon," said Suprapto.
The accident occurred on the line between Harjamukti Station and Ciracas Station when the trains were being tested.
