Man in North Sumatra Burned Alive, Perpetrators Run Away
jpnn.com, SUMATERA UTARA - Darwin Sitepu (38) died horribly as he was burned alive by a group of people in Kuta Jering hamlet, Belintang village, Sei Bingai district, Langkat regency, North Sumatra, Thursday (2/12).
Binjai Police spokesman First Inspector Junaidi confirmed the incident, saying that the perpetrators were still at large.
"We are currently investigating the case and chasing after the perpetrators, as well as collecting evidence and witnesses," Junaidi told JPNN.com, Friday (12/3).
Junaidi said that the incident began when the victim and his friends were sitting in a hut.
Not long after, a group of people approached Darwin.
One of the group members, identified as FD, asked Darwin and his friends to leave the hut. However, Darwin rejected FD's request.
A fight broke out. One of FD's friends hit Darwin's face with an air rifle. Darwin felt threatened and tried to fight back.
However, the victim's resistance was responded by FD's friends by pouring gasoline on the victim's body.
A North Sumatran died horribly as he was burned alive by a group of people.
