Anies Criticized for Planning Thousands of Infiltration Wells
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - The chairman of the Independent Community Justice Foundation, Ferdinand Hutahaean, has commented on the infiltration well project of the Jakarta administration to deal with flooding in the capital.
According to Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria, who wrote on his Instagram account on October 10, 2021, the capital targets the construction of 22,292 infiltration wells this year. Currently, 6,233 points have been completed.
"From what is being done in the field, I see that this seems to be just chasing the number but not thinking about the effectiveness of the infiltration wells themselves," Ferdinand told JPNN.com, Monday (8/11).
According to Ferdinand, the infiltration well project will not be optimal in dealing with flooding in Jakarta because the current condition of the soil in Jakarta is no longer able to absorb water optimally.
"Anies doesn't seem to understand this. He only knows that counting the number of wells will mutiply the number of cubic meters of water accomodated. But this is not easy, it seems like a waste of the budget," said Ferdinand.
The former Democratic party politician added that the correct way to deal with flooding in the capital was through tidying up environmental channels in residential areas.
