Senior Dangdut Singer Imam S. Arifin Dies at 61
jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Senior dangdut singer Imam S. Arifin reportedly died on Friday (17/12). He was 61.
The sad news was revealed through a message circulating within the media circle on WhatsApp.
"Innalillahi wainnailaihi rojiun [We belong to God and to God we shall return], senior dangdut singer Imam S. Arifin returned to Rahmatullah, Friday (17/12) afternoon," the message read.
The message was written by Nana Mardiana, the ex-wife of Imam S. Arifin.
There has been no official statement from the current family of the singer.
Before his death, Imam S. Arifin had been struggling with stroke for the past year.
He was last under public spotlight after he was arrested for drugs in 2020.
He served his sentence at a narcotics prison in Baleendah, Bandung regency. (jlo/mcr20/jpnn)
