If Not Badminton, Kento Momota Would Choose Softball

jpnn.com, BALI - Japanese badminton player Kento Momota has been ranked number one in the world for years, although Viktor Axelsen from Denmark will soon step over him.

Momota has won a number of prestigious titles, including 15 BWF World Tour titles and 2 world champion crowns.

However, many badminton lovers may not know what profession Momota would choose if he didn't become a professional badminton player.

In a recent interview, Momota said that if not badminton, he would choose to play softball instead.

"I've always loved softball," said Momota, quoted from the SimInvest YouTube channel.

Now, the 27-year-old badminton player is in Bali to take part in the 2021 Indonesia Badminton Festival (IBF) series.

There are three championships in the series, namely the 2021 Indonesia Masters, the 2021 Indonesia Open, and the 2021 BWF World Tour Finals.

Momota managed to win the 2021 Indonesia Masters but failed in the top 16 of the 2021 Indonesia Open.

He is qualified for the other event after being ranked 4th in the World Tour final standings with a collection of 32,600 points. (mcr15/mcr20/jpnn)
