jpnn.com, BANDUNG - An unusual reaction was shown by inmates of the Kebonwaru Detention Center in Bandung, West Java, when they found out they were sharing their room with Herry Wirawan, an alleged pesantren (Islamic boarding school) rapist.
This was revealed by the head of the detention center, Riko Stiven, who had a chance to talk directly with the accused.

"At first, they were shocked," said Riko when contacted by JPNN.com, Wednesday (15/12).
Riko admitted that the detention center had continued to educate inmates to anticipate undesirable happenings.

"We provide education so that all of them carry out their sentences well and go home quickly," he said.
Riko said Herry was in a special detention cell because he was still under the custody of the Bandung District Court.

"One room contains five people," he said.
However, Riko assessed that within 78 days in Kebonwaru, Herry had been able to mingle with other inmates.
Riko ensured that Herry was treated the same as the other inmates, although the Kebonwaru officers have given strict supervision to the person concerned.
"Officers continue to provide close supervision to the person concerned. But, so far, he has been well-behaved," said Riko. (mcr27/mcr20/jpnn)
