The man, wearing a blue t-shirt and trousers, was covered in blood.

A number of police officers are still investigating the scene. They also put up barriers to prevent mall visitors from approaching.
The East Medan Police Chief Commissioner Arifin confirmed the incident.

He said the man was a Pematangsiantar resident.
"A resident of Siantar died on the spot. He is suspected of committing suicide," said Arifin.

He said that the man had injuries to his head, hands, and jaw.
Subsequently, the police took the man's body to the hospital.
