To Blinken, Jokowi Says He Wants Involvement in Health Supply Chain

jpnn.com, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo expressed Indonesia's desire to be involved in the health industry during a bilateral meeting with United States Foreign Minister Antony Blinken, Monday (13/12).

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, who was accompanying Jokowi, said that Blinken welcomed Indonesia's wishes.

"The US welcomes Indonesia's wishes to participate in the health supply chain. Blinken also expressed support for Indonesia's G20 Presidency," said Retno.

President Jokowi conveyed a number of priority agendas for Indonesia's G20 presidency, Retno revealed.

Indonesia hopes that the US can become a strong partner in the economy, investment, and health sectors.

"Blinken also expressed a commitment to partnering with Indonesia in infrastructure investment," said Retno.

Retno said President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the various supports that the US had given to Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both parties will also develop strategic trust with all Indonesian partners.

For Indonesia, said Retno, such strategic trust was key to build a mutually beneficial and respectful cooperation.
