jpnn.com, JAKARTA - House member Johan Budi met with President Joko Widodo in person at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/1).
In the meeting, the two discussed important issues related to the current problems faced by local administrations.

Johan Budi met the President not regarding his position as a member of the House Commission III but regarding the lives of the people in his constituency.
Johan has served as spokesman for the President before being elected to the council.

"I only met with the President. The meeting is not related to Commission III. I often go to electoral districts, see directly and interact with people there," said Johan at the Presidential Palace.
Johan is currently with the PDI-P Party.

"I've been here, accompanying him as a staff member. So, apart from our friendship, I can give him a picture of what the local community looks like," he said.
Johan further stated that the meeting was not related to a specific task requested by President Jokowi.
"I was more in touch and wanted to convey what was happening in the community directly to the President," he said.
The position of presidential spokesman has been vacant since Fadjroel Rahman was sworn in as Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on October 25, 2021.
Johan was elected as a council member from the electoral district of East Java VII, which includes Pacitan, Trenggalek, Ponorogo, Ngawi, and Magetan. (antara/mcr20/jpnn)
