jpnn.com, JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated General Andika Perkasa as TNI Commander at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (17/11).
The inauguration ceremony opened with the reading of a Presidential Decree regarding the dismissal of Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto as TNI Commander and the appointment of General Andika.

After reading the Presidential Decree, Jokowi dictated the oath of office to General Andika.
"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said President Jokowi, followed by General Andika.

"That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work to the best of my ability and with full responsibility, that I will uphold the soldier's oath."
After reading the oath of office, General Andika and President Jokowi signed the official oath for the TNI Commander.

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD were also asked to approach the table and sign as witnesses.
Andika's appointment was attended by limited invitees and followed strict health protocols.
A number of state officials were present, including Vice President KH Ma'ruf Amin, former president Megawati Soekarnoputri, Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. (tan/mcr20/jpnn)
