jpnn.com, JAKARTA - Aesthetician Richard Lee has been detained by the Jakarta Police since Monday (27/12) for illegally accessing and eliminating case evidence.
The case started with a feud between Richard and celebrity Kartika Putri.

Richard made a review of the beauty cream 'Helwa', stating that a laboratory examination showed the product contained high hydroquinone of up to 5.7 percent. Meanwhile, he said, the limit of the content was only 2 percent, and its use needed a doctor's supervision.
Kartika then fired back, and Richard later posted an apology on YouTube. However, Kartika reported him to the authorities.

Richard was detained by the police for allegedly accessing his Instagram account when it was used as evidence by investigators in the case. An investigation showed that Richard had also allegedly erased some of the evidence.
Richard's wife, Reni Effendi, did not expect her husband to be detained.

"I swear I'm writing this while I'm shaking. I got bad news that my husband was detained by the police. What was the basis for my husband being detained?" she wrote.
She argued that Richard had not committed a crime.
"Clearly my husband is not guilty, not committing a crime, not harming others," she added.
She also said that her husband had been cooperative with the police, calling the detention completely baseless. (chi/mcr20/jpnn)
