Body of Guide Who Tried to Save Gowa Tourist Found

jpnn.com, BALI - A joint search and rescue (SAR) team has finally found the body of Putu Suasta, a guide who was dragged by the current on Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, last Monday (25/10), when trying to safe a girl who was swept away by massive waves.

Putu tried to help Nur Aisyah Putri Sari, a domestic tourist from Gowa, South Sulawesi, who was also dead after being dragged away by the waves.

Putu was found floating lifeless.

"When he was found, the victim was not wearing clothes. He was found in the distance of 0.20 Nm from the beach," said the coordinator of the Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) alert unit in Nusa Penida, I Putu Cakra Negara.

According to him, the search for the victim started out by following the lead of the current that dragged away Nur at the Kelingking Beach. The search was carried out for up to three hours, but to no avail.

But the search was successful after a break.

"After being found, we evacuated the victim's body to Banjar Nyuh Harbor to be taken to the Pratama Hospital in Nusa Penida with an ambulance," he said. (lia/mcr20/jpnn)
