Loh Kean Yew Finally Beats Viktor Axelsen at World Championships
jpnn.com, HUELVA - Singaporean badminton player Loh Kean Yew beat Viktor Axelsen from Denmark in the first round of the 2021 BWF World Championships through a rubber game ending with 14-21, 21-9, and 21-6.
The match was Loh's perfect revenge for Axelsen after the Singaporean player ranked 22nd in the world was defeated in the previous tournament, namely the 2021 Indonesia Open.
At that time, Axelsen defeated Loh with a score of 21-13, 9-21, and 21-13.
This was also Loh's first win over Axelsen from five clashes.
Loh must now prepare to challenge Austria's Luka Wraber in the round of 32 at the 2021 BWF World Championships.
Wraber stepped into top 32 after Indonesian representative Shesar Hiren Rhustavito was undispatched by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). (bwf/mcr16/mcr20/jpnn)
