2021 Denmark Open: A 'Graveyard' for Badminton Players

The last was the withdrawal of Indonesian player Jonatan Christie from his match against Kento Momota from Japan. Jonatan, who had lost 13-21 in the first game, backed off entirely in the second game after the score showed 0-15.
A release from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) stated that Jonatan had an issue with his waist.
Prior to the three cases above, many other badminton players also chose to withdraw from their game due to injury at the 2021 Denmark Open.
Another Indonesian men's singles player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, also suffered an injury and backed off after only playing for two minutes against Thomas Rouxel from France.
Then, there were the world's number one players of women's doubles Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan from China, who suffered an injury in the first round.
The density of tournament events that the badminton players went through might have caused many of them experience fatigue, which then led to an injury.
Two days before participating in the 2021 Denmark Open, the athletes had just fought in the 2020 Thomas Cup.
The head coach of Indonesia's men's doubles, Herry IP, said his players had been exhausted after competing in the Thomas Cup.
